active cathodic protection: Impressed current system, in this case the metal to be protected is given an emergency electrical potential thanks to an impressed current from an electromotive force, generated from a local power source suitable for this scope.

anodes: In passive cathodic protection systems, anodes made of less noble materials, such as Zinc, Aluminum and Magnesium are connected to the metallic frame. The anode, called sacrificial because it is consumed to protect the frame where it has been installed, will be corroded faster than metallic frame, which will be as a cathode.

antifouling: control of growing of living organisms on underwater structures.

impressed current: gainst galvanic corrosion by means of dc power supply units.

passive cathodic protection: The galvanic connexion, in this case, the metal to be protected is connected to a metal with a different electrical potential (less noble in the galvanic scale) which takes the role of sacrificial anode. It is necessary to replace the anode periodically, as this metal corrodes “sacrificing itselfâ€.

remote monitoring: Tecnoseal designs and manufactures systems for monitoring able to keep under continuous control the protection status of the parties protected against corrosion. These systems allow you to monitor all parameters useful for a remote diagnosis of the system.

telemetry: systems for remote monitoring and control of cathodic protection systems.
